The Lemonade Crime Comprehension Questions
Dec

2014

The Lemonade Crime is the second book in the The Lemonade War series by Jacqueline Davies.  There are about 70 questions included in this packet broken up by chapter.

These questions are written in standardized test format with multiple choice answer options.
The questions cover many reading concepts:
cause and effect
sequence events
inferring
character actions and feelings
vocabulary/word meanings
plot
perspective/point of view
character traits
connections
figures of speech
summary
theme
metacognition
text evidence
character comparison

I used these questions with my third grade class as we read through the chapter book together.  I have spent many hours making these questions thought-provoking and higher level while also providing for an opportunity to prepare for testing.  If you see any errors, please let me know, and I will correct them and upload the correct version asap.  mrsacolwell@gmail.com
Thank you!  Happy reading!

Reading Comprehension – Where? When? Why?

This product in now available in a Reading Comprehension Bundle with 8 other reading comprehension books! Offers a 15% SAVINGS

This 7 page book is designed so that you can copy the book, cut it in half, staple, and then it is ready for use. The seven pages consist of a title page “Where? When? Why?” Then each of the remaining 6 pages includes a short story with a matching black and white picture. Under each short story, there are three questions about the story. The three questions ask “Where? When? Why? questions about the story. The six stories are shown in the preview.
These stories and questions can be put together in booklet form as discussed above or individual sheets can be used. The story/questions are on a half sheet of paper.
No matter what format you decide on, there are many uses for these stories/questions. The stories include a variety of reading levels. They can be used in a kindergarten class with the teacher reading the story and questions to the students and having the students use invented spelling to write their answers. They can also be used for independent reading practice in first or second grade by letting students read the short story, read the questions, and answer the questions even if they have to look back in the story to find the answer.

These short stories are great for guided reading groups, homework, or literacy center activities.

I hope your students enjoy these stories and questions.

Alphabet Hide and Seek A-Z

The purpose of this set is for letter recognition A-Z.

This alphabet set includes a page for each letter of the alphabet A-Z. Students are given directions to color the picture shown beginning with the letter sound specified for each page and the matching letters in the rectangle at the bottom of the page a particular color. Students are to make it a game of “hide and seek” as they look to find (tag) each letter of the alphabet on each page. Students are then directed to color the remaining letters a different color. The letters on each page are randomly place for finding and coloring.

Note: For the letter Xx, a picture for the ending sound is shown (box).

To add more skills and to include different levels of activities, students can flip to the back side of their paper and write a row of each letter learned. Higher level students could write words beginning with each letter of the alphabet on the back of their paper or even write a sentence for words beginning with each letter.
I hope your students enjoy this game of hide and seek as they learn to recognize each letter of the alphabet.
