Product Description

One of ways for students to get the most out of the short stories and novels they read is to make them aware of the techniques that writers use.

Authors reveal the physical descriptions and the personality traits of the characters they create by using either direct or indirect characterization

In this lesson, Charlene Tess explains the three ways that authors reveal characters and gives examples of each of them. Then, students will practice reading passages and deciding which of the three ways the authors used, and will practice writing short original passages to illustrate each of the techniques.

After doing this exercise, students will be aware of this important writing technique, and in the future, the students should be able to point out the method used by the authors in stories and novels that they read.

Instead of printing the pages and distributing them to students, you can give them a link to each page and they can view the digital slide in their Google Drive and record their answers on Google Slides. Students can submit their work to you however you wish. (Google Classroom, email, etc.)

Using the Google Drive Resource will save you hours of time and reams of paper. Your students will learn grammar and usage the easy way.

The benefits of Google Drive Resources include:

•           Share lessons and exercises one page at a time.

•           Students can access the materials from anywhere they have access to their Google Drive.
