This is a PowerPoint that uses both audio of numer being read with animated picture(s) to hold students' attention and increase retention of information. For example, for the number "1" the number appears. After a slight pause, a recording of Counselor Bev saying the number plays. Then one object appears. This continues from slide to slide for each number from 1 to 10. 

Learning to identify numbers is a foundational part of pre-school or kindergarten math. Some of the students at my school struggle with this, so to assist the teachers and support the students, I created this PowerPoint that allows students to practice in a FUN manner. 

The presentation presents the number and there is a pause before the word is read aloud by Counselor Bev. This allows students to play a "beat the audio" game to see if they can identify the number before it is read aloud. It also allows students to hear the correct pronunciation and allows them to associate the spoken form with the written form. 


It can be used independently by students or with the whole group together. It will be a wonderful intervention to use with students for remediation, but it can be used just as easily for gifted students for enrichment. This is a great resource for English Language Learners, too! 


There are 12 slides. 

I have used animation, background music, transitions, and movement to help keep students’ interest. Our students LOVE these and enjoy getting to practice their sight words in a way that is much more fun than using flash cards.
